| Monster Trout Derby |
Jul 18, 2009 |
|
| April 18, 2009 - February 28, 2010. All anglers interested in landing a Monster Trout and winning one of a 100 prizes should be fishing the Lackawaxen River. In addition to the thousands of fish stocked by the PA Fish & Boat Commission, the Lackawaxen Township Business Owners Association will stock 100 five to ten pound trout between The Settler’s Inn in Hawley and the Zane Gray Bridge in Lackawaxen. This is the third year for the hugely successful Monster Trout Derby. There is no entry fee and no pre-signup. Just go fishing, get lucky, and win a prize. All fish are tagged and the tag numbers correspond with each fish’s sponsor. Official weigh-in stations are Wallenpaupack Sport Shop on Route 6 in Hawley, PA and Angler’s Roost Sporting Goods in Two River Junction, Lackawaxen, PA. The Derby will run from opening day of trout season, April 18, until February 28, 2010. For information call 570-685-2010.
