Springtime in Pike County
Springtime in Pike County is one of the most beautiful seasons on the calendar and people look forward to spending time in the beautiful outdoors once the frigid winter air turns pleasantly warmer and balmy breezes begin to make the fresh green grass and leafy trees sway in the air. The vibrant flowers begin to bloom into a colorful bouquet, the bumblebees garner nectar and families of bluebirds sing merrily.
Come out, grab those sneakers or walking shoes and participate in various walking tours through some of the many historic towns the county has to offer or exercise your mind and visit national historic sites which are sprinkled throughout the county. When Easter rolls around, bring the kids and participate in Easter egg hunts at some of the local parks.
If you’re a nature lover and spying wildlife as the seasons change is more your style, grab your binoculars and watch in awe as majestic bald eagles and a wide variety of other birds fly over head. Pike County also has an abundance of lakes and streams, so why not try your luck at fishing? You just might go home with a delicious dinner or, at least, some good fishing stories to tell. |
