Summertime in Pike County
During the hottest months of the year, the area offers many respites from the beating heat with sparkling lakes, calming beaches, lazy rivers and roaring waterfalls just a short drive away.
The lakes and rivers allow people to get their feet wet (or their whole bodies) with family favorites like boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming or tubing.
The mountains and valleys of Pike County also provide many other activities for people who prefer to stay on dry land including berry picking, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.
Picnicking or barbequing at some of the local state parks, playing a few rounds of golf at several beautiful golf courses or browsing outdoor festivals and county fairs are other ways to spend the lazy days of summer in Pike County. |
