Autumn in Pike County

Before giving thought to the first snowfall that is just months away, be sure to take part in the many fall festivities the area has to offer. Throughout the county during the harvest season the region comes alive when vibrant hues of gold, red and orange decorate the trees.

There is never a shortage of fall activities in Pike County and some favorites that bring people back year after year are visiting pumpkin patches and taking long country drives to view the fall foliage.

Other time honored traditions include having fun getting lost in corn mazes, donning silly and creative costumes by participating in Halloween parades, buying fresh apple cider at various cider stands and bravely visiting haunted houses.

For those looking for more thrills and chills there are also haunted carriage rides to take visitors and locals through towns with plenty of spooky tales to be told and country hayrides throughout the area in the fall.

During this season in Pike County there are also an abundance of arts and crafts and antique shows –with at least one almost every weekend where people can find treasures and unique items for their home or business.

Get out that turtleneck sweater and be sure to visit one of the numerous farm stands this fall where baskets of ripe apples ready for baking are for sale and cider tasting awaits you!
