Many many People ask the history of Mt Haven Resort and the Filone family when they visit us and they realize that we have been successfully running this establishment officially since 1973 and unofficially previous to that, as a well kept secret for just close friends and family, since 1966.

The year was 1966 and three brothers --Tony the eldest and John and Andy (twins) from Long Island City, Queens NY and their wives Angela, Lorraine and Tina respectively, decided to take a little trip up to the Pocono’s to check out what everyone was referring to as the new place to “get away from it all”. Only 75 miles from their home in NYC they thought it may just be that perfect place to have summers and weekends outside of the city.
