Lacawac Sanctuary is a nonprofit nature preserve, ecological field research station and public environmental education facility. The mission of Lacawac is to preserve our 13,000 year old glacial lake, its watershed, the surrounding forest and historic structures; serve as the hub for ecological research on climate change, watershed protection and water quality; provide public education on environmental and conservation issues; and conserve the beauty of nature in Pennsylvania. Lacwac is open and free to the public and sustained through the generosity of donations from friends, visitors and sponsors. Visit Lacawac for a unique experience.
