Not far off Rt. 6 on 590 is the natural area's parking and information center. Access to the Blue Trail. About 3 miles, it is recommended to hike counterclockwise (up the hill) from the parking area. Enjoy the many varieties of trees and wildlife. There are other unmarked trails, especially the one along the 60-acre Beech House Creek Wildlife Refuge. This woodland is one of the last undeveloped areas around Lake Wallenpaupack. Before the lake was formed in 1926, parts of Shuman Point were farmed. Now this 300 acres of woodland is a natural area set aside by PPL for the public’s enjoyment. Shuman Point hosts a variety of wildlife.
