Dingmans Falls is the second highest falls in the state, with a plunge of 130 feet. In heavy spring runoff, there is no way to get to the end of the boardwalk without getting drenched by spray. The boardwalk trail passes by a thin horsetail cascade called Silverthread Falls. Whereas Dingmans Falls slides down a sandstone face, Silverthread has sawed its way through a narrow fissure of the same formation to reveal a cross section of the lower Pocono Plateau, with its many twisted and folded rock layers. Carrying much less water than Dingmans, Silverthread can be a trickle most of the year
