Two Ponds Trail |
| Activities: Hiking |
This 1.5 mile trail is by far the most leisurely and flattest trail at PEEC and takes hikers through towering pine plantations and allows a view of two scenic pond environments. Follow the white blazes and the numbers that correspond to the interpretive guide you can pick up at PEEC's main building. From PEEC's front porch, face the parking lot and head diagonally to your right until you find the boardwalk. On the boardwalk, there is a bird blind in which you can observe wildlife in the shrubby area adjacent to the Front Pond. The trail then heads upland from the pond, crosses a small stream and continues diagonally across Briscoe Mountain Road. The trail will take you through a Red Pine and Scotch Pine plantation and around Pickerel Pond and ends by the dining hall near PEEC's main building parking lot.
