The scenic beauty of Lake Wallenpaupack and the groves of trees along its shores is being enjoyed by walkers.The generally level path is 1.8 miles long and extends the walk along the Wallenpaupack Dike, along the lake behind the Wallenpaupack Visitors Center. It goes past the township beach and near the shore and docks along the Wilsonville Campground. It next joins the existing trail behind the Wallenpaupack Area High School, which has been improved.
This path then joins the new Wallenpaupack Creek Trail at PPL Wallenpaupack Environmental Learning Center. This portion extends the total trail to 2.1 miles.
The trail is open from sunrise to sundown and is expected to be open year-round. No animals or vehicles are allowed on the path. It is not rated as handicapped-accessible.
