Winter in Pike County
Even the bitter cold weather doesn’t keep people indoors for long. As the temperature drops, the blustery winds and falling snow are prime conditions for those who enjoy the outdoors in the winter.
Pike County has two major ski resorts that provide quality slopes for skiing on the region’s challenging mountains and snow tubing on the fluffy white snow. The area’s many scenic trails also give winter enthusiasts the opportunity for snow shoeing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.
As the ponds and lakes freeze over they provide a solid glass- like quality for ice skating and ice fishing, which are also favorite past times. |
